The girls, under coach Meeuwissen, are Melina Findley, Selena Tank, Chery! Blanes, Jody Popp, Dennise Kluss, Jessie Carroll, Jody Gox, An- drea Tank, Krista Soules, Kristi LeBlond, Tia Kurylowich, and Altesia Lloyd-Jones. Jody Marshall is the manager. Caledonia takes zone volleyball The Terrace Caledonia Senior High School girls’ double ‘AA’ volleyball team won the zone title on the Nov. 22 weekend, while the Kermode Boys were at Kamloops placing last in their B.C. Finals. It was a_ three-team playoff for the girls at Kitimat. The host team started with 15-12, 15-11 wins over Prince Rupert. Then the Kermodes down- ed Prince Rupert 15-4, 15-12 to set up a best-of- five final series against Kitimat. The Kermodes took the opener 15-6, but Kitimat tied it up with a 15-11 win. Kermodes then came back with 15-9, 15-9 victories to salt away the zone title and earn a trip to North Vancouver for the 16-team B.C. Finals, Dec. 5 to 7. The North Van series splits teams into two divi- sions of eight for round- robin play. Following this, the top four advance to a championship series while the others go into a con- solation round. A consolation round is where the Kermode Boys wound up in the 12-team boys’ double ‘AA’ finals, following round-robin ac- tion, They started by losing 15-7, 15-0 to top-ranked Nanaimo. Then they dropped a 15-12, 15-4 decision to Prince George’s Kelly Road, and a 15-7, 15-4 series to Earl Marriott of Surrey. On the consolation side, the Kermodes lost 17-15, 15-9 to Delta, and 1-15, 15-10, 15-5 to Trail.
