(CW 328) BACKGROUND: Developments in remote sensing and computer systems have shown that aerial photogrammetry is the most cost effective method of topological data collection and most suitable for anticipated developments in municipal information data management systems. Approaching municipal mapping as a 3,9@@ hectare whole, as opposed to a series of separate jobs, will increase the return on existing city resources. This will result in lower overall cost per map, improved turn around time and superior record management. Current methodologies are unsuitable for a digital mapping environment. This approach is suitable for a wide variety of mapping requirements, including planning, parks and recreation, capital projects, bylaw enforcement or consultants. As the information may be fit to the needs of various city departments, or external forces, mapping cost may be recovered from same. Photo analysis would be done on a priority basis, suitable to the requirements at hand at a cost of $45.0@ per hour. cOSTS: Aerial photos $15,000.90 -model structure, flight lines, target locations -aerial triangulation -provided by Eagle Mapping of Port Coquitlam in cooperation with existing city forces.
