This ¢echaal has grewn team 266 to S35 students in the last few years and, with French Immersion students coming from a wide area of District a, there has been a marked increase in the trat¢ic flow. There are “No Parking" signs all along ‘he school side of Pooley Ave. from Taylor St. to Knappen St. the Kindergarten entrance/exit) and for a short distance an Knappen St. bordering the two entrance/exit pathways, these are routinely lanored by drivere croceing off or waiting far their child/ren. After a recent minor accident the Kilmer Home and Schaal Association Gecided that action should be taken anda group of parent volunteers have, oan one morning and six afterncans sa far, stood cut in the rain and directed drivers” attention to the existing signs. This is nat satisfactory as there is ma where ta go and more drivers then cruise along Knappen with cars parked cn Both sides of the street making it even more danqeraus for children to crass. We request that the situation be evaluated IMMEDIATELY and offer the following sugaestions in no particular order:- 1) the existing signs on Pooley Ave. be chanqed ta include "No Stopping" ~~ <) the existing signs on Knappen be extended to fully include both pathways — m6) n side walk or qravel installed all along perimeter fence ta make walk ingyre and the Fire Hydrant. S> the existing signs be removed all together -~ Ma 4) Stop signs be erected at Poaley and Knappen tao make it a four-way stop ~~ my S) Pedestrian crossing across Pooley Ave. at Knappen St.- Ay wir Craning Quart | f ae Six paces that parents could use. 3) adult cra¢sing guards on duty marnirig and afternacn. >) install the traffic turn-around system as desiqned, a child’s life is worth more than $12,000.00, ,lets spend the money and save the child. I have already made in-person and telephone contact with all of the feaple named below and found myself gqaing im circles, I haope you will be able ars easier, it is so muddy that children and adults walk on the road- An increase staff parking, at least six -teachers park orm the road each day %?e fa help. - a ‘ Yours truly, Ce P i: [ hf Suan bap” Metron Ms S.P.Kinag-Wileon, Past President, Kilmer Home and Schacl Gesaciation.
