Re:Dangerous traffic situation at Kilmer School

I wish to draw vour attention to the traffic proatlems currently
posing &@ serious hazard to the atudents of Kilmer Echocl. This ¢echaal has
grewn team 266 to S35 students in the last few years and, with French
Immersion students coming from a wide area of District a, there has been a
marked increase in the trat¢ic flow. There are “No Parking" signs all along
‘he school side of Pooley Ave. from Taylor St. to Knappen St. the
Kindergarten entrance/exit) and for a short distance an Knappen St. bordering
the two entrance/exit pathways, these are routinely lanored by drivere
croceing off or waiting far their child/ren.

After a recent minor accident the Kilmer Home and Schaal Association
Gecided that action should be taken anda group of parent volunteers have, oan

drivers” attention to the existing signs. This is nat satisfactory as there
is ma where ta go and more drivers then cruise along Knappen with cars parked

We request that the situation be evaluated IMMEDIATELY and
offer the following sugaestions in no particular order:-

1) the existing signs on Pooley Ave. be chanqed ta include "No Stopping" ~~
<) the existing signs on Knappen be extended to fully include both pathways
