Kirk July 9, 1990 City Administrator File No. 35/90 FROM: Carlos Felip Director of Planning RE: Meridian Industrial Park - 1455 Spitfire Place Application for Development Variance Permit Planning and Development Committee ~ July 10, 1990 3 1999 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Planning Department be authorized to draft Development Variance Permit No. 35/90, to relax the backyard requirements from 3.0 metres to 2.87 metres. BACKGROUND: An industrial building has been constructed and completed at the subject property. Although building permits were issued in 1989, a survey certificate was only recently submitted to our Building Department. The certificate indicates that, due to an error in plotting, the rear yard setback for the building is deficient by 0.13 metres. In order to allow for Final Building Inspection, the applicant is requesting approval of this Development Variance Permit. DI ION: Construction of the industrial building on the subject property proceeded, with the authorization of the former Director of Building, without the submission of a survey certificate. At the time it was apparently asummed that, since there were no difficulties in locating a building of this size in the lot, it would be done appropriately.
