Re: The Provincial Court Facilities,
Port Coquitlam, B.C,

! read with interest the report in the Sun on the proposed location
of the new courthouse, and my partner and { would like to commend your
decision to locate the Provincial Courthouse facilities in the City

of Port Coquitlam.

For several years now we have owned a commercial building on Shaughnessy
Street and have become very aware of the decline of the commercial
centre, due primarily to the draw of the Coquitlam Shopping Centre and

its surrounding areas,

Port Coquitlam is a well established community centre and we therefore
hope that your Proposed facility will be the catalyst for the revital]-
ization of the downtown. core. Whilst the decision to locate is obviously
yours,! would also like to mention the efforts of Mayor George Laking in
Promoting Port Coquitlam as a good location for the facility.
