/12. October 20th, 1975 Ald.Laking re Alderman Laking advised he had been having discussions with people Water Rights-Coq. River, Hyde involved in the environment of the City and surrounding areas with Creek, etc.for flood control respect to water rights to the Coquitlam River, Hyde Creek, etc., which purposes would place the City in a better position to establish flood control to the North, and he requested the Administrative staff to check on how to proceed in that regard. Ald.Laking-thanks Alderman Laking then expressed his appreciation for the flowers re flowers for his wife while in sent by the Council and staff to his wife while she was il] in hospital. hospital Ald.Laking-Alder- Alderman Laking then announced he would again be running for the manic Candidate-Nov. '75 Election position of Alderman at the November i5th, 1975 Municipal Election. Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay inquired as to the progress being made in installing X/walk light at entrance to a crosswalk light on Shaughnessy Street from the bus stop across to the Lions Park on Shaughnessy entrance to Lions Park, and Alderman Mabbett advised he understood the Street item had been ordered. Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay suggested that the installation of speed bumps parking lot speed bumps—Hyde on the new Hyde Creek Centre parking lot should be looked into, and Creek Centre Alderman Mabbett agreed so to do. Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay mentioned that the Gulf Service Station at the disposal facility -for camper & corner of Flint Street and Prairie Avenue intends to provide disposal trailer toilets facilities for waste from trailer and camper toilets. Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay referred to two letters from The Honourable grants from Dept. Mun.Affairs- James G. Lorimer, Minister of Municipal Affairs, dated October 15th and Gas Rev.Sharing Act & Sewerage October 16th, 1975, respectively, enclosing in the former a cheque in Facilities Assist. Act the amount of $30,800.00 issued to implement a major provision of the Natural Gas Revenue Sharing Act transferring to the City the sum due under the housing starts section of the Act, and in the latter a cheque in the amount of $31,216.00, being an annual financial grant under the Sewerage Facilities Assistance Act, and he proposed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That a letter of thanks be sent to The Honourable James C. Lorimer, Minister of Municipal Affairs for cheques received in the amounts of $30,800.00 and $31,216.00, being the sum due the City under the housing starts section of the Natural Gas Revenue Sharing Act and an annual financial grant under the Sewerage Facilities Assistance Act, respectively.
