Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended in a report from the Planning & Zoning Committee, September 4th, 1975, the following land use policy be approved for McLean Avenue South: 1. Area outlined on the sketch submitted with the said report be designated for future industrial development. 2. A suitable buffer be established between residential and industrial use as shown on the sketch referred to in Item 1 above. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Laking agreed to the suggestion of Alderman Mabbett to add some evergreens to the natural deciduous tree growth in the proposed buffer strip. Alderman Ranger stated his concern with respect to traffic problems that may be created; however, Alderman Thompson pointed out that the proposed widening of McLean Avenue will alleviate that substantially.
