On October 20, 1971 when a B.C. Ferry vessel was unloading at the Departure Bay Terminal in Nanaimo a car containing two elderly persons slipped off the ferry and sank. As we understand it four persons dove into the water and assisted in bringing the elderly couple to safety. Mr. Harry Mantel, 3148 Stratford, Port Coquitlam was one of these gentlemen, We trust this information will be of assistance to you, as it ig all the information we have been able to obtain on the accident.
