November President's Report

I am very pleased to announce that Dale Delansen has taken on respon-
sibility for Made of Clay. Having worked in the gallery she is familiar to
many members and knows the workings of the Guild. Also, many
thanks to Jim for all your hard work co-ordinating this event for the past
few years and for staying on the organizing team.

It always seems that we are looking for more volunteers, but it is natural
in any organization that people come and go. At this time we are look-
ing for someone to take on a leadership role in Membership. It is impor-
tant for us to continue to attract new members and maintain up-to-date
membership data. This is not an onerous task, but an important one.
You would not be working alone, as Ronna Ander maintains the data
base, making changes and adding new names.

The second volunteer we are looking for is someone to co-ordinate the
annual Too Good for the Shard Sale. This is the Guild's main fundrais-
ing event and it requires someone who can co-ordinate the collection of
donations and put together a team of volunteers to staff the sale for 2-3
days. We have been privileged to have Linda Doherty organize this suc-
cessful event for the past two years, but she now has other demands on
her time.

So what do you think of our new directory? Thanks to a great team of
volunteers, each contributing their individual expertise, it looks really
great. Kudos goes to: Coleen Dugan, a BCIT student who came to us
for work experience - she really went beyond what was expected to get
this job done; Ronna Ander for getting the data base up to date; Jim
Stamper for collating the photos; Don Jung for computer technical assis-
tance; Julie Johnston for proofing; and Tamara Ruge for directing the
whole team.

How about you giving a few hours out of your year for our clay commu-
nity? Contact me for more info.
