Signals at two intersections have been upgraded to improve traffic flow and safety along this arterial. One intersection is at the Sande Street overpass and the other where Eby meets the highway. The most noticeable is at the north end of the Sande Street overpass. Previously, when the left turn advanced green arrow for southbound traffic ended, there was a lengthy pause before east- bound traffic was given a green light to proceed. With the recent upgrading, there is now an amber warning arrow for southbound traffic after the green stops. Once the amber arrow stops, eastbound traffic will be able to proceed immediately. "This change will improve safety at the intersection by eliminating the uncertainty of the left tum signal and whether or not it’s safe to proceed," said Highway’s elec- trical foreman Dave Sarsiat, "The amber arrow as a warning is a big improvement of the previous sys- tem of no warning at all." The other change along the high- way will be at the intersection of Eby Street and Highway 16. Here, the old mechanical type traffic controller has been taken out and a new electronic type has been installed. This allows the intersec- tion to be traffic sensitive and | change when there are cars on the detectors or when a pedestrian button is pushed rather than strictly on a fixed time. This change will eliminate unnecessary waiting on Eby Street when there is no traffic on the highway. Cash back —-- (500.00)* Break through price — 6495.00 * = oF 8.9% financing Up to 48 months.
