The presentation was made during the league's annual golf tournament in April. It was hockey kicking off the golf season at the Skeena Valley Golf and Country Club on April 27 as the Terrace men’s Rec Hockey League attracted 83 players to their annual golf tourna- ment and hockey season awards presentations. They played a nine-hold golf round in teams of four players using the *best-ball’ system. The winning foursome of Bob Dempster, Jim Rigler, Barry Heit and Tony Pavao shot a minus-five to grab top honours. A minus-four gave the foursome Under its new executive and Tecently-appointed club manager Bruce Carruthers, the Skeena Valley Golf and Country Club has lined up a very busy season, together with some changes in the course layout. They’ve already held the Rec Hockey League’s annual scramble, plus the first annual season-open- ing club scramble Just this past weekend. Tomorrow at the clubhouse is the annual fashion show put on by the ladies’ club, with Rose’s Ladies’ Fashions and the golf club pro shop. Tickets are still available for this at Paragon Insurance, the golf club or Rose’s. There’s lots of tournament action beginning in June. The Norther Motor Inn/CFTK annual charity toumey runs on June 9. Then there’s the All Sea- sons Father’s Day scramble on June 16. The big one for the season is the Skeena Valley Men’s Open — a 54-hole event running June 29, 30 | and July 1.
