Carried. The City Clerk then advised of two requests received to conduct tag Tag Days-N.Amer. Labor Party and days in the City; namely, from the North American Labor Party, September PoCo Firefighters Muscular Dystroph 16th, 1977, in connection with a petition drive and solicitation of Campaign support on Fridays and Saturdays, beginning September 24th, 25th and through October 3lst from approximately 3:00 p-m. to 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and neon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays; and from the Port Coquitlam FireFighters Association, Local 1941, September 14th, 1977, respecting a fund-raising campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada., on October 21st and 22nd, 1977. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as requested in a letter dated September 14th, 1977, the Port Coquitlam FireFighters Association, Local 1941, be granted permission to conduct a fund-raising campaign in the City on October 21st and 22nd, 1977, for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. Carried. A discussion then ensued with respect to the request from the North American Labor Party, and members of Council generally agreed that two days only would be sufficient time for that organization's campaign in the City. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That with respect to a letter from the North American Labor Party, September 16th, 1977, requesting permission to conduct a petition drive and solicitation of support in Port Coquitlam on fridays and Saturdays beginning September 24th and 25th, through October 31st, approval be given only for Friday, September 24th, 1977 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and for Saturday, September 25th, 1977, from noon to 6:00 p.m. Carried.
