Bylaw 7882 Planing and Derelopaemt Committee July 5, 1994 RECOMMENDATION ¢ 1. ‘That a new Public Hearing on Bylaw No. 2882 be held; ®, That the amendment to the Official Community Plan be modified to include only those lands lying between the end of the pavement on the Pitt River Road End and the end of the road on the foreshore side; That in order to do this, Council authorize the Fngineering Department to survey the road and to identify the portion of land described above; That Council instruct the City Clerk to cancel by Bylaw, the portion of highway referred to in No. 2 above, and re~dedicate the portion of highway as a park. That the new lot referred to above be rezoned P-1 (Public Ingtitutional ) with an address on Pitt River Road and the Municipal Clerk be inatructed to prepare the appropriate Resoning Bylaw; and That the Parke and Recreation Director be instructed to proceed with some improvements to open thia lot as park, a& soon as the rezoning is | completed, to establish the use of the new lot aa park. BACKGROUND s On May 30, 1994 the Municipal Council instructed the Director of Planning to meat with owners of property adjacent to the Pitt River Road End lying south of Argue Street; The Director wae to aubmit a technical report back that may allow the City to comply with the promise of deaignate the road-end for park" use while satiafying the concerna expressed by the surrounding owners.
