a October 4th, 1976 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Halli, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on October 4th, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P.Eng., Planning Officer Lanson Lee, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G.W. Ulmer and Mrs. M.K. Warwick. Mayor Campbell. noted the presence of the Harkin Tuggers PeeWee Harkin Tuggers Pee-. Wee Minor Lacrosse | Minor Lacrosse Team in the Chambers and after offering congratulations - Special Recog- on behalf of the City to the Team for the Sportsmanship Trophy they won naezon. | while participating in an Invitational Tournament in Eastern Canada this past summer, called on Coach Norris Moore to outline the team's activities during the past year which lead up to this award. Mr. Moore advised that i9 boys (all 12 years of age) had raised the funds for their trip east through various drives during the past year and participated in the Tournament involving some 42 teams and although they had not placed well statistically, they were very proud to have been the recipients of this particular award, which is presently being kept for one week by each of the team members and will then be placed in the Display Case at the Recreation Centre. Mr. Moore was then asked to introduce the members of the team and coaching staff, following which Mayor Campbell again suggested that it was the type of award that was most significant in this instance and Alderman Traboulay added that both the type of award won and the fact that the boys had raised their own money, deserved the highest praise. Mayor Cambell then declared a brief recess for the convenience of those wishing to leave the Chambers at this time. After resumption of the meeting, Alderman Keryluk extended congratulations Congrats. to and best wishes on behalf of the Council to Planning Officer Lanson Lee Planning Officer and his wife who, earlier in the day, became the parents of a 6 lb. 13 oz. baby boy.
