B16 - The Terrace Standard, Wednesday, June 22, 1994 TERRACE YOUTH AMBASSADORS Jassie Osei-Tutu, Maggie Botelho and Carrie McElroy cruise the streets in style during the town of Houston’s youth ambassador contest in May. Their schedule for the summer will be busy attending functions across the province. Busy time for Terrace’s ambassadors TERRACE’S YOUTH ambas- sadors have been busy since awards night on May 14 at the R.E.M. Lee Theatre. Maggie Botelho, Carrie McElroy and Jassie Osei- Tutu were invited to the Houston Ambassador contes- tant the weekend after their event. They travelled by bus with Alfreda Price to attend ‘the Houston parade and speak at their talent and awards night. . Jassie was asked to perform his dance routine that won him the Talent Award in Terrace and it went over as well in Houston as it did in Terrace. On July 8, Maggie and Al- freda will. be travelling to Nanaimo to attend their am- bassador program which ‘is being held at the Long Lake . grand opening. Inn. There they will be listen” ing to each. local contestant speak about a senior they. will be designated to and give a speech pertaining to their senior. . oo On Saturday they will all meet at Long Lake for Queen’s race and some vol- jeyball. That will be followed a noon barbecue and some rest and relaxation before meeting for the pageant. On July 22, Maggie and Joanne Archibald will be travelling to Kelowna for the Lady of the Lake crowning and reception for the new 1994 Miss Kelowna and her Princesses. They will also be able to at- tend some of the B.C. Summer Games before leaving for Vancouver on the return trip. On August 12, you will find Maggie and Crispina Cote travelling to Penticton where they will attend their grand pa- rade and attend their pageant. The three ambassadors also travel to Quesnel for Barker- ville Days and the Quesnel Ambassador contest in mid- July. Maggie, Carrie and Jassie travelled to Prince Rupert with city economic development officer Ken Veldman and the Riverboat Days float to attend the Sea Fest parade on June 11, Then on June 12 they all at- tended the Air Cadets formal inspection at the Terrace Air- port. On June 18th they will be seen with the seniors of Ter- race travelling by bus -to° Prince Rupert.
