the dairy industry. is responsible
for the organization of theWorld’s

| Dairy Congress Association, Un-

der the auspices of this body and
of the government of the United
States a World’s Dairy Congress
has been arranged to be held in
Washington from October 2 to 5
this year. The vast extent of
the dairy industry and its inter-
national status are reengnized by
those responsible for the congress
Scientists, health officials, gov-
ernment officials, social welfare
workers, producers, manufactu-
revs and distributors of milk and
milk products will contribute to
the discussions. These will re-
late to improving the quality and
reducing the production and
handling costs of dairy products
and improving national health
through their more general use.
The international asnect of the
commercia] side of dairving has
not beén overlooked. It is rec-
ognized that the movemen. of
surplus dairy products from Au-
stralia, New Zealand, the Argen-
tine Republie and South Africa
nortnward profoundly affects the
prices in Canada, the United
States and Western Europe. The
Congress is called together by
President Harding, who has been
authorized by Act of Congress to
invite foreign representatives to
attend,

pose of filling present vacancies and to
enable candidates to qualify for future

| vacancies and increases in staff.

ASSISTANT FOREST RANGERS-—
Assistant. Forest Rangers are employ-
ed during the fire season of each year
and this period is extended where pos-
sible by work cn improvements such as
trails, etc. Re-appointment is made
each year as long as aatisfactory service
ia given. Promotion to the permanent
staff is made by merit and examination
as occasion offers. The salary is $100
per month the first year and $110 per
month the second year, and $120 the
third year. Travelling expenses are
alao paid. .
QUALIFICATIONS for CANDIDATES
Candidates must be British subjects
resident in British Columbia for at least
one year, of good character, good phy-
sical condition and with woods experi-
ence.
