WRINCH TO RETIRE FROM - THE POLITICAL FIELD A great many people in Skeena rid- ing will regret to learn that Dr. H. C. Wrinch has decided to withdzaw from polities atter the present house is pro- rogued. He has notified the leaders vf his party and also the Liberal As- sociation for Skeeng riding, On the trout pege of this issue will be found # notice to all Liberals in the riding. Dr. Wrinch points out that to repre- sent Skeena in the Legislature in the manner it should be is too great a sac- rifice to his personal business, und to, attempt both is too hard a grind for ay man of his years. Dr. Wrinch bas already done a great service to this. northern interior coun- | try, both as a professional man and a public man. He is, ‘and has always been one of the outstanding men of the north. When he accepted nomigation from the Liberal party eight years ago he did so with the idea of serving his fellow. man to the utmost of his ability aud since he has been the representa- tive of Skeena in the Legislature he has acted as he saw the best interests of his constituency. No one will deny that. Some there are who disagreed with bis views, naturally, but the Doc- tor could not hope to please'all. ~’ While a member of the Legislature he won a high place in the ranks of his party. He was also well thought of by the opposite party. He took his polities seriously and did his best. He is now entitled to relinquish at least that service to the public _ ; To look after a district the size of Skeena is a big job in itself, providing a man wishes to give it the attention the people desire and expect. It tnkes a lot of time and it costs_a lot of mon-: ey. While he looks after that he can not give the attention to bis own af- fairs that is necessary in these times of plenty of work and Little pny. -Thus the Doctor has decided to give hig un-; divided attention to his profession and the Hazelton Hospital. He also hopes to have a llitle time for recreation, for rest or for delving deeper into the science of medicine and surgery. Dr. Wrinch is due the thanks of the people of Skeena for the service he has rendered in the past. That . service is appreciated, THE KIDD REPORT IS PRINTED Last week the Kida Report was. giv- en to the public. It was read with a good deal of Interest apd a good deal of difference of opinion. Some of the recommendations are well worth while and others are quite impossible, As business men the committee no doubt gave of their best, and for that they fare, entitled to the thanks of the pub- lie as a’ whole. A ‘number of their’ recommendations will be adopted at made in advance... ‘ BOOKING Sar @ Let Canadian National show, you, how moderate may be the cost of your trip to the Old Country.
