CIRCULAR LETTER TO ALL MUNICIPALITIES AND OFFICIALS OF
THE. DEPARTHENT OF REHABILITATION AND SOCIAL IMPROVEMENT

Re: Social Allowance - Christmas Bonus

The Honourable Norman Levi, Minister of Rehabilitation and
Social Improvement, has approved a Supplementary allowance .
(Christmas Bonus) to persons in receipt. of Social Allowance
during the month of December, 1972,

The amount of the Christmas Bonus is $10.00 for each head of

a family and $4.09 for each single person, While the Christmas
Bonus is payable to employable and unemployable persons in
receipt of Social Allowance, it is not payable to persons

receiving boarding, hostel or nursing home care, nor is it
Payable to individuals in an institution where regular monthly
.Conforts Allowance is being paid.

Municipalities: may grant this bonus in the above amounts and
claim for reimburs
payments should be
monthly amounts as an inerease in the normal
food allowance for December only.
