They re- member the delegation that went to Ottawa to speak for 750,000 Canadian citizens who signed a petition demand- ing price controls.: They have not for- gotten that not a single member of par- liament stood up in the House of Com- mons and fought for these perfectly sensible proposals. The women know in terms of 100,000 killed and wounded sons and husbands, the real meaning of war. They know in- stinctively that another war is in the! making — this time right here in Canada — unless there are men in parliament who will fight to stop it. Every mother knows how much she has sacrificed to pay doctor’s bills and buy medicine — while a bunch of sanc- timonious politicians played around with a health insurance program for four years and then dropped it.
