The Kitimat Lacrosse association is hosting a 12 team
lacrosse tournament this weekend at Tamitik arena.

Four teams from Prince George will be coming to town
to join eight local teams in the two day tournament. |

Action gets underway Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and.
runs all day Saturday and Sunday. - .

The tournament includes games in pee wee, novice,
bantam; midget, and senior, and will feature two
exhibition games, one by the Tykes team of Johnson,
Barklay & Scaffe and the other game by the players
‘mom's.

Tennis tournament

The Terrace tennis club is holding it's first competitive
tournament of the year this weekend at the Kalum and
Straume tennis courts.

36 people are entered in the three: day competition.
Players from Rupert, Kitimat, Smithers, and Houston
have joined menibets of the Terrace club in the three
event tournament. ”

Tournament chairman Dave Burdett, sald he was a
litte disappointed in the response from the out of town
clubs but the local response has made up for it.

The draw gets underway Saturday morning at 9.a. m.
with thé ladies and men’s doubles. On Sunday it will be
men’s and ladies doubles and the tournament wrape up on
Monday with mixed doubles.

Trophies will be awatded to the winners and prizes to
the runners-up.
