That the City not contribute to the City of Vancouver's A.!.D.S. Educational and Community Programs Fund. That the City Clerk be directed to forward a4 letter +o Vancouver City Counci!] advising them of the City's decision. Background and Comments: The letter from the City Clerk of Vancouver dated March 5, 1987 on this subject was referred to the Environmental Protection Committee for discussion and consideration. The Committee met on April 3, 1987 to review the attached letter Including the extract from the minutes of the Vancouver City Councl | meeting held on February 24, 1987. In discussing this matter, the Committee members were unanimous in recognizing that Aw.!I.D.S. fs guickly becoming a serious health concern. However, while the members support the Proposed actions of Vancouver City Council, they can not support their request for a contribution of 12 1/2 cents per capita towards their AeloD.S. Education and Community Programs Fund since it was felt that this contribution will be in variance with Council's policy on grants to organizations. S ong, Pe.
