VALLEY REGIONAL LIBRARY January 27, 1982. The 1982 Provisional Budget Draft is enclosed herewith, it incorporates the following substantial changes: 1. Area Librarian allocated for the North Fraser part of the region (this splits an existing area) + $30,549 Adult Book Coordinator which is a scaled down version of the former Public Services Coordinator who was not replaced in January, 1981. + $30,540 3. A full allocation for replacement of book stock of $1,273,800 (this is up 82.2% over 1981, includes expansion books) Also being considered and not presently in this budget is the Matsqui Municipal Hall as a new expanded library replacing at least Clearbrook and the acquisition of commercial shopping mall space at McMillan in Abbotsford. Some Statistics Provincial revenues have been budgeted as of last year's totals (this should be clarified soon by Peter Martin, Library Services Branch). Alternative C is 30.3% higher than last year. School Assessments are up by 28.6% in the Regional Library system (from $2,238,886,583 to $2,879,949,993). The mill rate based on School Assessment in 1981 was 1.834 mills and in 1982 at the maximum budget 1.948 mills. 3
