R.A, Freeman City Clerk Dear Sirs:- Re: Reconstruction of Lougheed Righway - Scott Creek Alignment - District of Coquitlam Thank you for your letter of April 19, 1973 enclosing the £ the Council requesting that a Public Meeting in School District No. 43 be conducted by the Department of Highways to substan- tiate the decision to construct the Sharpe Street alignment rather than feconstructing the Lougheed Highway at its present location. resolution o The Department has attended two public meetings on this sub- ject, one last October at the Glen School which was organized by the District of Coquitlam and the other in February which was sponsored by S.P.E.C. for the Ranch Park residents. At the first public meeting, the Director of Location explained the reasons for recommending the Sharpe Strect alignment and at the second answered questions raised by the Ranch Park residents. ‘Yhe first meeting was advertised in the news- Papers and was attended by about 25) people, The Ranch Park residents 85 ratepayers of the District of Coquitlam had every opportunity to attend the meeting. It would appear at this time that the facts of the reloca- tion have been quite well publicized concerning the relative property impact of the two alignments. ihe Couneil of the aunicipality of Coquitlam is also on record as being in agreement with the Sharpe Street alignrent.
