Arthur Fisher from Black Swan Gold Mines says it won't pay $10,000 to the mine’s receiver to ~. begin. negotiations for the pur- - Chase of the pile. “The mine went into receivership «in February and. the tailings pile is -» considered an asset to be sold. "We have no plans to pursue it, > We're not prepared to pay the $10,000,"" said Fisher. That amount is considered good faith money by the receiver and i is refundable. Yet Fisher said he’s dis- appointed by the attitude of Arthur Andersen Inc., the court’ appointed receiver in charge of disposing of the assets of Cassiar Mining Corporation. “We're not talking to him. He’s filled with his own importance,”’ said Fisher. “Until we get a-belter under- slanding, there’s no way we're going to proceed,’’ he added. Black Swan had plans to bid $7 miflion for the massive tailings pile estimated at 16 million tonnes. It’s been accumulated over the nearly 40 years the mine was in operation. “There is a process that works,’’ said Fisher of a plan to mill the tailings pile to recover 18,000 tonnes a year of asbestos for 10 years.
