DERKSEN
(Feb. 12,1931 - Sept 22, 2005)

A long-time resident of Terrace, died of
a heart attack in his sleep, the evening of
September 22, 2005. . =

He is survived by his wife Kay, sons:
Tony, Kelly (Jennifer), daughter Teresa,
Grandsons: Josh,. Chris, Nathan. Granddaughters: Tanisha, }
Amy, Ashlee, Melissa, Tennille, Sydney, Tanis and Miranda. . |
Brothers: Jake (Marg}, John (Nellie), Pete (Susan). Many neices,
nephews, numerous relatives and good friends. ==. 7

Frank and his wife Kay came to town on January 30, 1955,
to manage Miller's Jewellers, which they bought several years
later, calling it Derksen’s Jewellers. As his business thrived, so,”
several years later, did his family. Frank loved to build litle
carts to haul his kids around in, behind his riding mower. Trivial
Pursuit and Thirty-One were also some of his interests. .

He travelled to Alaska, the Prairies, Eastern Canada, and
Hawaii, some with just Kay, others with the family.

In December of 1979, he sold his store to his employee
of many years - Evelyn McDonald. He opened a watch repair
_ shop a few doors from his store. He always felt fortunate to.be |
earning a living, doing something he. so enjoyed, In 1990 he
moved his business fo his home, where he continued his work
until his last day. Relaxation was an acquired taste for him. The
lawns were kept trim, he drove his Massey-Harris tractor in his
field where he could pretend that he was back in Saskatchewan, :

7 or planting potatoes, of which he was justly proud.
He was a private man, sometimes somewhat introverted, but
was quick to help anyone in trouble, and always tried to keep
his promises. ; " , ,
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
