tere Join the Party of Peace oa AKE MAY DAY, 1949, a day of demonstration M for peace. Let the rulers and despoilers know that the Canadian people — above all other 6 things on this May Day — want peace, not war; jobs, not breadlines; homes,-not bomb dugouts; the UN ‘Charter, not the Atlantic War Pact. Patriotism and loyalty must be to one’s country th C ar t y 0 Om Or T 1] W and its people — not to the politicians and profiteers of Big Business. Love of country, of the workers and farmers, is the true freedom and the real dedication. : On this international day of working class soli- darity—the Labor-Progressive Party again affirms its belief and faith in the people of Canada, and in their ability to beat back the threats to Canadian : security and democracy, the Atlantic War Pact, Sec- ‘ : tion 98 and the assaults on labor typified by the strike of the valiant Canadian Seamen’s Union. May Day, since 1886 the day of world-wide work- ing class celebration of the cause of proletarian de- mocracy, will this year again strike fear into the hearts of the warmongers and hope into the spirit of the people. The cause of lasting peace and people’s democracy will triumph. The camp of the people is stronger than the camp of the tyrants. The mighty Socialist Soviet Union is the sy mbol of the hopes of the world’s millions for peace and socialism. The LPP calls on Canadians to wel and demon- - strate on May Day, to speak up for peace, for econ- omic security, for greater democracy. The LPP calls on the voters to elect the LPP Can-. _didates in the constituencies where they are nomi- nated. The LPP greets the Connie’ Tribune and calls upon its readers to double the circulation.
