Westwood Street at this location is a boundary road between the City of Port Coquitlam and the District of Coquitlam. Road widening will only be constructed on the District (west) side of the road this year although the rail crossing works will be constructed to accommodate the ultimate four lane road. An inter municipal agreement is in place for boundary roads which outlines each municipality's maintenance responsibilities. In this regard, Westwood Street is maintained 100% by Port Coquitlam. The proposed cost apportionment for work at the crossing is therefore: .
