SUBJECT: U.B.C.M. Study on Self—-Insurance.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City agree to pay our per capita share of the costs of
self-insurance study.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

The estimated costs of the study are 3 to 5 cents per capita or for Port
Coquitlam approximately $1,000 to $1,500. |

The objective of the study is to develop a detailed proposal for a self-
insurance pool for B.C. municipalities and regional districts. Included
in the study will be proposals for the structure, administration and
financing, including contributions required from participants to make the

pool viable.
