Mayor Len Traboulay
City of Port Coquitiam
2272 McAllister Street
Port Coquitlam, B. Cc.

Dear Mayor Traboulay:

The Board of Directors of the Coquitlam SHARE Society would like to invite you
to appoint a council member as official liaison from the City of Port Coquitlam to
SHARE. ;

As you are aware, SHARE is a diverse community and children's service agency
providing many important human services to the residents of Port Coquitlam.

Youth counselling services in
Day and Family counselling
dren's Resource,

To facilitate communications of our mutual interests, we are proposing that you
appoint a liaison person to SHARE. The role should not be onerous for the appointed
representative and will be informal. It will involve occasional meetings with senior
staff and Board members of SHARE, receiving correspondence and reports and consul-
tation on issues of mutual interest.

Such a role should help SHARE to be better informed about council concerns and
allow the council to have first hand knowledge of the issues surrounding human
services in the District,

I hope that you will agree that these are important functions to perform and
will appoint a liaison person. Please feel free to contact Darrell Burnham at the

SHARE office to clarify any of the above points.

Patricia Ritchie,
Chairperson, Board of Directors,
Coquitlam SHARE Society.
