In opposing the proposed rezoning various factors such as the
Present single family nature of the area, traffic, and the
desirability of having only owner-occupied buildings were
mentioned.

Westminster District, shown on a subdivision plan prepared by
Walter E. Frith, B.C.L.S., and dated the 16th day of March, 1983,
from RS-2 to C-~4, ;

This property is located at 2697 Shaughnessy Street and is
commonly known as the "Daikey Building" site. The property. is

‘presently owned by The Corporation of the City. of Port Coquittam -

and is being placed for sale pursuant to the provisions of’ the

Municipal Act. It is expected that a successful purchaser will be’

establishing a downtown, commercial type use on the property.

Mr. M. Bowen, owner of the Property at 2669 Shaughnessy
Street, addressed the Council! and expressed his concern regarding
the lack of parking and the fact that any proposed construction
would be immediately adjacent to his building which would require
him to renovate that side wall as he would no longer be able to
gain access and that certain of his windows would be fost and that
as well as providing -!ight they were also used as a fire exit.
