MAY 1 3 1974 VICTORIA Qp, PROVINCE OF |p TSH cow May 6th, 1974. Mayor James L. Tonn, District of Coquitlam, 1111 Brunette Ave. Coquitlam, British Columbia. Mayor Tom Hall, City of Port Moody, Port Moody, British Columbia. Mayor Jack Campbell, City of Port Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Gentlemen: You will recall at our meeting on January 10th this year that a possible study on the potential reasons for and/or against amalgamation was discussed by myself with you. It was my understanding that we agreed, prior to anyone making any commitment on this issue one way or the other, it would be wise for all politicians and the public concerned to have independent, adequate information on the question of amalgamation. It was suggested that the Provincial Govern- ment would be willing to fund the cost of a study on the pros and cons of amalgamation for School District 43. This offer, with no strings attached either to the scope of the study and/or, the outcome, is again made, and I would appreciate hearing from you as to whether or not you can agree to a starting date for this study, which commits none of you to its results. The sole purpose of this study is for public information cnly. May I hear from you shortly on this matter. ry truly, __ arrett, Premier.
