Terrace bambinos flood Rupert THE BATS were hot in Prince Rupert on the long weekend, even if the weather wasn’t, Our 10-12 year-old bambinos of Terrace Minor Baseball were in the city of rain fora best-of-three series to decide the Bulkley Valley Representa- tive. Short of snow, the weather couldn’t have been worse Saturday, but the boys came out Oying, scoring seven runs in the first inning, Outstanding pitching cftorts by Mark Viveiros and Daniel Matthews aided in keeping the Rupert bases vir- tually empty throughout the game. The boys added another run for insur- ance, cnding with a decisive 8-0 win. Rupert came back in the second game, getling on the board early. Ter- race managed to crawl back to within one run, but couldn’t pull ahead. Rupert handily won 16-9, The sun peaked out from the clouds on Sunday, recharging Terrace’s bat- teries. While the first two innings were scoreless for both teams, the Terrace bats were on fire in the third and fifth, scoring four nuns in each, But Prince Rupert wasn’t about to go down without a fight, scoring five runs on solid hits in the fifth.
