The review will provide the Chief Forester with information to determine harvesting levels that are environmentally sound and that ensure the sustainability of B.C.’s forests. The discussion paper summarizes the two technical reports — timber supply analysis and socio-economic assessment — and identifies the critical areas of public concern in an understandable manner. Public input on the discussion paper is welcome and will be considered by the Chief Forester before the allowable annual cut (AAC) is determined for the TSA. Open houses will be held to provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions and examine background information related to the timber supply review.
