Res 1990/91 Annual Service Plan

On July 6, 1989, the Vancouver Regional Transit Commission
approved-in-principle the 1990/91 Annual Service Plan draft
report and requested that it be forwarded to Municipal Councils
for review and input.

The Annual Service Plan is a document which identifies transit
service improvements for the fiscal year April 1990 to March
1991. The plan is based on the Vancouver Regional Transit System
taking a more pro-active role and increasing its market share of
travel in the region.

To ensure local input into the plan, the Commission is requesting
that each Council review and comment on the draft report and
specifically the service changes noted as outlined below:

1. Introduction of a peak period express route (#169) linking
Pt. Coquitlam Centre and Citadel Heights (via Citadel Drive)
wich the New Westminster SkyTrain Station.

2. Introduction of a direct peak period service (#169) connect~
ing Port Coquitlam Centre with the Mayfair Industrial Park.

3. Expanded peak period service on the #151 (Lougheed Highway)
and #160 (Barnet Highway) rovtes.

In addition, the Commission has also asked that a summary of
municipal requests be reviewed by Council to determine if they
are still appropriate or whether new priorities are required. A
compilation of the past 3 year's Municipal Requests is attached.
