Paty ctawrasenisis wry ) TENET August 11, 1988 City Clerk City cf Port Coquitlam 2331 Marpole Avenue Port Coquitlam, B.C. Dear Sir: We have recently learned that lot 78 in Phase 7 of Citadel Heights has been purchased by a person intending to install a satellite dish. The property in questien is elevated above the adjacent properties. We are very concerned that installation of this 3 metre dish will detract from our properties particularly because it will be so visible. We believe that it is unfair to the owners of adjoining properties to allow the installation of Satellite dishes in urban areas serviced by cablevision. The disadvantcge to neighbours far outweighs the advantage to the owner of the dish. We have informed the purchaser of the preperty of our concerns and hope that he will reconsidex. In the meantime we feel that a bylaw governing the installation of satellite dishes in residential areas should be enacted. In new communtities the services (including a more than adequate television utility) are underground and they should stay there if at all possible. We would appreciate it if you would (1) advise us as to what steps must be taken for the enactment of such a bylaw, and (32) determine if there is any way to block the installation of this particular dish. Thank you for your consideration. Name Address Phone Signature Toha thos Bied QYYS Regbie Terrace FU(-Z0\.
