THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM

BY-LAW NO. 1240

A By-law to amend the "City of Port Coquitlam Waterworks Regulation
By-law, 1970, No. 991",

The Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam,
in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
1. The “City of Port Coquitlam Waterworks Regulation By~law, 1970, No. 991”
is amended by striking out the words "Engineering Supervisor" wherever they
appear and substituting the words "City Engineer".
2. Section i of the By-law is amended by striking out the definition of
“Residential premises" therein contained and substituting therefore the following:

, " "Residential premises" shall mean all premises used solely for
residential purposes."

3. Section 4 of the By-law is repealed and the following substituted:

"4, All water supplied to premises other than residential premises
shall be supplied by a meter service upon completion of an agreement to take,
use and pay for such water according to the form as set out in Schedule "A" of
this By-law. Every consumer receiving water by a meter service shall give every
facility for the installation, inspection, and protection of water pipes and
meters upon his premises, and whenever the City Engineer finds a meter blocked
or out of order and failing to register the full amount of water supplied or
indicating that no water has been used, it shall be lawful to charge and collect
the same water rates as if the meter had registered correctly and such rates
shall be based on the average rates for the preceding six months."

4. Section 5 of the By~law is repealed and the following substituted:

"5. Water shall be supplied to residential premises upon completion
of an agreement to take, use and pay for such water according to the form set
out in Schedule "A" of this By-law. Every consumer receiving water under the
provision of this Section shall give every facility for the installation,
inspection, and protection of water pipes and other appurtenances upon his
premises. Notwithstanding the provisions of the foregoing a meter may be
installed on any water service to residential premises whenever and wherever
the Council deems it advisable so to do and upon such a meter being installed
the rates provided by Section HK of Schedule "B" of this By-law shall be charged."
5. Section 6 of the By-law is amended by repealing Clause (b) thereof as
enacted by the "City of Port Coquitlam Waterworks Regulation By-law, 1970, No.

591, Amendment By-law, 1971, No. 1062" and substituting the following:
