We have been invited to combine our meeting with the Canadian Society for Asian Art, so please let us be on time. PROGRAM: Dr. Robert Sperry, who is Professor of Art at the sean e Seek, of Washington, in Seattle, has spent some time in Japan in recent years will give a talk and show a film: The Working of the Japanese Pottery Village of Onda. Dr. Sperry is well known in this area and we are grateful for the opportunity to enjoy this program. Jean Fahrni, who is President of the Society for Asian Art this year, has made this arrangement for us. Many thanks Jean. B.C. CERAMICS'76: It's almost here!! We have been working on this for so long and now it is very exciting to anticipate seeing all the interesting entries. Remember that Friday, May 21st, from 10 A.M. - 9:30 P.M. is the day to deliver your pots to the Pianetarium. Invi- tations have been mailed to all members of the Guild for the opening and presentation of Awards on Sunday, May 23rd at 8 P.M. The show will run from May 24th to June 6th, Gallery hours are: 10 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. except Fridays: 10 A.M. - 9:30 P.M. Gallery is open on Sundays. Pots must be picked up at the Planetarium on Monday, June 7th - Inquire about pick up time when you deliver entries. WITHIN THE POTTERS HOUSE: To coincide with the Habitat Conference on Human Settlements, the Canadian Society for Asian Art in co-operation with the Centennial Museum, is presenting the show "Within the Potter's House". Jean Fahrni and her committee have been working for months to bring together this unique collection of earthenware, stoneware and porcelain dating from the fifth millenium B.C. to the eighteenth Century A.D. This show will open on May 22nd, and will continue for eight weeks, possibly longer. How nice to have two pottery shows under one roof! This.will give us a wonderful opportunity to compare the old with the new. VANCOUVER SCHOOL OF ART STUDENTS SHOW is now on display at the Helen Pitt Gallery, 163 West Pender Street, until May 14th. @liery hours are 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. Sorry I couldn't have announced this earlier. Gordon Thorlakkson has a pottery show opening at Gallery 22, 2228 Marine Drive, West Vancouver on Monday, June 14th at 8 P.M. Also showing at this Gallery will be Fabric Collages by Carole Sabiston and Tapestry Weaving by Pauline McLean. Show runs until June 26th. Gallery hours are 9 A.M. - 5 P.M. Tuesday through Saturday. David Toresdahl: At Handcraft House, 110 West Esplanade, North Van- couver, May llth to 29th, an exhibition of Raku Sculpture and Drawings. Opening on May llth at 8 P.M. Also at Handcraft House, the Graduate Show by Fibre Arts students May 31st to June 12th. House of Ceramics, 565 Hamilton St. Vancouver presents a show "CLAY BODLES", by Simon Brafman and Diane Vander Mey, May llth to 22nd. pen- ing night will be May 24th at 7:30 P.M. The first section May 25th to June 5th will feature pottery by : Wayne Ngan, Tam Irving, Kay Dodd, Byron Johnstad and Richard Hewbolt.
