going to be on the immediate neighbours, probably within a one or two- block radius, because of the parking and increased traffic. The Committee is divided on whether or not a Neighbourhood Pub should be permitted to establish in Port Coquitlam and therefore considering the fact that further applications may be received, the Committec would like to discuss with Council the following recommendations: 1. That there be a general discussion as to whether or not there should be any Neighbourhood Pubs established within the City. 2. If it is considered that we should permit a Pub to be established that it be limited to the approval of one licence for the City. 3. That from a Planning point of view, the Committee considers that the only possible location that has the least impact on the residential area is the existing Northside Shopping Centre on the West side of Coast Meridian, North of Prairie (i.e. the block from the Bank of Commerce to the Overwaitea). The Committee would like to discuss these points further with Council. The Committee was also informed that Mr. Charlie Hughes, along with one of the original applicants, . wished to approach Council to obtain approval for rezoning a parcel of land on the corner of Dorset and Coast Meridian. The Committee did not have details of the submission, however, the proposal was described briefly as being a new structure of tudor architecture to accommodate a Neighbourhood Pub. The Committee understand that a brief will be submitted to Council on this location. The Committee does not agree with this location for a Neighbourhood Pub for two reasons: 1. The location is right adjacent to an existing four-plex and is surrounded by residences on three sides. . 2. Council had established a policy previously of cutting off the Commercial Zoning with the new Commercial development that terminates with the new Royal Bank building on the West side of the street.
