October 18th, 1976 dealt with by the City's Environmental. Protection Commit tee at a special meeting and a question had arisen regarding the length of time the S.P.C.A. took in responding to the complaint, Alderman Traboulay advised that the matter is being investigated and a further report will be forthcoming. Additionally, it was reported that the Association of Concerned Citizens has appointed a Committee of six to watch the area and report any problems to the appropriate authorities, as it has become apparent that this is not the first instance of neglected farm animals. The City Clerk advised that additional information is being requested for information. ! i | from the Agricultural Department in this regard. The report was received } { i f From the Fire Chief, being the September 1976 Report of the Fire Fire Dept. sept ./76 Department. Alderman Traboulay enquired as to-.the status of the new Fire REPORT Hall and the City Engineer advised that a recent inspection resulted in a list of minor deficiencies which must be corrected before the building can be turned over to the City, however, it was expected that these will pe looked after without delay. Alderman Mabbett asked the Fire Chief to report on the length of time required before a building, destreyed by fire, can be ordered demolished and the Fire Chief indicated that in the specific case referred to by Alderman Mabbett, legal action is currently underway and the matter is in the hands of the Fire Marshal's Office and until such time as his investigations are complete and che case has cleared the Courts, no further action can be taken. Alderman Traboulay enquired if there had been any fires started due to 'Clean-up' burning and the Fire Chief advised that no calls hed been received. The report was then received for information. CORRESPONDENCE AND PETITIONS: From the Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association, October 5th, PCAAA request for permission to hold 1976 requesting permissicn to conduct a raffle in and about the City reffle with the draw to be held December 15th, 1676, and the proceeds going to Triple A General Revenue. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the request of the Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association, October 5th, 1976 for permission to conduct a raffle in and about the City of Port Coquitlam with the draw being held December 15th, 1976; the total income to be $1000. and the prize not to exceed $100.; be granted.
