Annual..Conference - Municipal Officers'
Association of British Columbia

The Municipal Officers! Association of British
Columbia is holding its annual conference in Victoria on
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 31, June 1 and 2, 1972.

The confererice meetings will ecnvene in the
Newcombe Theatre, Heritage Court, An interesting and con-
structive program for large and small municipalities and for
regional districts has been arranged by the Executive of the
Association which, I am sure, will be informative and of
value to ail local government officers.

As usual members of my Department will participate
actively in the program and much time will be devoted to
reviewing and discussing current changes in legislation and
other matters of interest to the delegates affecting both
municipalities and regional districts. .

A banquet followed by a social evening at the
University of Victoria is planned for the evening of Thursday,

June lst, with the Government of the Province of British
Columbia acting as host,

The full facilities of the Department will be placed
at the disposal of delegates during the period of the conference
in the event that there are matters that can be dealt with more
readily by personal visit while in Victoria. In view of the
many changes. taking place in local gevernment, it is important
that all municipalities and regional districts be represented
at the conference to ensure the exchange of as much information
as possible, I sincerely hope that you and your Council or

Board will arrange for as many of your appointed officials
