ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Guild held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, January 24th, 1991 at the Granville Island Info Centre, with an attendance of about 30 members. Reports were made by Tam Irving, President, Kathryn Youngs, Treas- urer (See page 5 for Financial State- ment), Jan Kidnie, Office Acmints- trator, and Coralie Triance, Gallery Manager. Following discussion of the year's activities and possible future developments, a motion was made and adopted by the member- ship in attendance that the fees for Guild membership be ralsed com- mencing forthe 1992 year to $25.00 for individual members and to $40.00 for group memberships. The increase is largely for the purposes of meeting increases in postal rates and production costs for the News- letter. Dave Doble and Helen Robertson were appointed scrutineers for the eounting of ballots for election of officers to the Board of Directors. Elected to the Board for the coming year were Rosemary Amon, Bob Kingsmill, Dona Nabata, Friederike Rahn, Terry Saimoto, and Debra Sloari. =x TFET] INSURANCE Mutual of Omaha has recently mailed an inquiry package to Guild members, If you failed to receive one, and would like to hear from them, contact their Richmond office at (604/276-2818, JURYING INFORMATION To date, the Board has not been able to review the process, but the follow- ing are guidelines which still hold. The Selection Committee will be lonk- ing for work that has a strong per- sonal style, strong personal direc- tion, consistently good design and technical competence. The applicant should submit six pieces or slides if they are out-of- towners, a clear, typed biography and the retail pricing of their work. The slides should be a good indica- tor of the work; clear, with stated dimensions, and the name and year of the work. People should follow the fuidelines as stated, otherwise the work will not be considered.
