CONGRATULATIONS Many west coast friends of Peta Hall will be pleased to hear of her 'Forms and Feelings! porcelain exhibition held recently at Alvin Gallery in Hong Kong. The vessels had carved and altered perimeters depicting abstract land and sea scapes. The pieces were fired in oxidation to 1260°, using combinations of barium and nickel to create a rich palette of glazes from crimsons through deep bottle greens to midnight blues. Peta comments of her work, "I love to carve porcelain, I love to see its fluid shapes, and feel its movement, its fragile delicacy intrigues me, and its pure color is like a canvas awaiting the splash of-vibrant paint". Alvin Gallery is the only art gallery of its kind in feng Kong, catering to a growing awareness amongst the residents of contemporary art forms in clay.
