Dear Hr. Griffiths,

Further to our neeting of Friday, January 21, 1972 with
reference to the Centennial Pool Enclosure and the additicns to the
existing bath-hcusa. .

The following are the updated estimated construction costs
which ara based on our preliminary plans submitted to you on
Sanuery 17, 1972, broken dewn as follows:

Pool Enclosure complete $ 40,000
Neating and Ventilating 12,000
Electrical Sorvices 8 ,0CO

Addition of Bath-house
Electrical Service
Plurbing and Heating
Pittings for Coffee Shop

Consulting and Engineering Fee 8,000

TOTAL $ 88,000

Consulting and Engineering Services will include the following:

- Inavestigation of existing conditions at the site.

Preparation of all working drawings and conatraction
specifications for all mechanical equipment and piping, .
heating and ventilating, electrical and structural detalle,
all utility tie-ins (water, gas, electrical power, sewers
and site drainage, etc.) in accordance with the requirements
of tational, Provincial and Municipal By-Laws and Bullding -
Codes.

Calling of tenders, analysing bids and raking recommendations
for awarding of contract.

Supervision of construction to satisfactory complstion.

Yor a Guaranteed Maximum sun of Eight Thousend Dollars $ 8,000.00

All work would bo done on an hourly fee basis in accordance
with the latest edition of the Scule of Mininzn Fees of the Asseclation
of Professional Engineers of the Province of British Colucbia.

Work would be billed monthly, based on the total hours actually
spent each month by each category of persornel. Each monthly invoice
would be due and paveble within thirty davs of invoice date.

The principle of the guaranteed maximum Fee in our preposal
is thzt you would pay only ‘for the hours actually spent on the work,
but in no case would the total cost te you ad Eight Th A
Dollars ($8,900.00) for combined engineering and construction supervision.
It has been our experience that this formula is very satisfactory to
our clients in that in most instances the actual total cest is less
than the guaranteed maximum and yet the client has she advantage of
having a firm budget cost of engineering before work begins, and this
figure is not pegged to the cost of construction 2s is the case when a
fee structure is based on a percentage of cost of construction.
