Protection Committees Meeting of March 16, 1994)

That Council authorize the Deputy Engineer to attend the three day conference to
be held April 6, 7 and 8, 1994 on "Protecting the Environment - A Shared
Responsibility" |

That the cost for this conference be allocated from the 1994 Environmental
Protection Budget.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

Committee considered the information on the upcoming three day conference and recommended
that a member of the Environmental Protection Committee be authorized to attend.

~The Conference is sponsored by UBCM, Ministry of Environment and Ministry. of Municipal
_ Affairs. It will examine important aspects of the Provinces new environmental policies,
~ legislation and regulatory proposals. |

The registration fee for the conference is $130 (plus GST). It is recommended that this cost be
allocated from the 1994 Environmental Protection Committee budg |
