Petrieval of wildlife killed

36. (1) A person commits an offence where he hunts wildlife and kills or injures
that wildlife and fails to make every reasonable effort to
(a) retrieve the wildlife, and if it is alive to kill it and include it in his bag limit,
and
(b) remove the edible portions of the carcass of game to a residence or toa cold
storage locker or meat cutting plant.
unless exempted by regulation.
(2) In this section “residence” does not include temporary or seasonal camp.

Possession of carcass

37. (1) A person who possesses the carcass of any wildlife. whether or not the
carcass has been divided. without leaving attached the parts required by regulation to be
left attached. commits an offence. |

(2) Subsection (1) only applies until the carcass

(a) is given to the owner or operator of a cold storage locker or meat cutting
plant to-be recorded in accordance with section 34 (4), .

(b) arrives at the person’s normal dwelling place and is butchered and stored
there for consumption on the premises. or

(c) 1s presented to an employee of the Ministry of Environment or other person
specified by the Lieutenant Governor in Council for inspection,

whichever first occurs. .

Transportation of wildlife

38. A person who ships or transports or engages another person to ship or
transport in the Province wildlife or fish or parts of them, except as provided by
reguiation, commits an offence. _ .

Failure to furnish information —

39. A person who fails. on the request of an officer, to state correctly the locality
where and the date on which wildlife or fish in his possession was killed, taken or caught
by him or came into his possession, commits an offence.
