seat ease py aatonilaey sas Ap a bye teh tna, Seat as February 22, 1988/048 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the "Campbell Room", Best Western Poco Motor Inn, 1545 Lougheed Highway, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, February 22nd, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J, Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and R.H. Talbot in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy City Administrator R.A. Freeman, and City Treasurer J.G. Maitland. SPECIAL PRESENTATION: His Worship L.M. Traboulay introduced members of the PoCo Blazers Minor Soccer Team and then presented them with Civic Awards. His Worship LL.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Doug Falkin of the Port Coquitlam Scouts and read the following proclamation: WHEREAS the aim of the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides is to help youths develop their character as resourceful and responsible members of the Community by providing opportunities and guidance for their mental, physical, social and spiritual development; and WHEREAS these aims embody to qualities of good citizenship; and WHEREAS the 1200 members in the City of Port Coquitiam share a common bond with over 553,000 other Scouts and Guides in Canada and over 22 million throughout the world, exemplifying the ideals of friendship and service manifested by the founder of the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, Lord Robert Baden-Powell; and WHEREAS the youth of the City is our most precious heritege; and WHEREAS as a tribute to the high esteem in which Boy Scouts and Girl Guides and their leaders; NOW THEREFORE I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the City of ‘Port Coquitlam DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of February 21 - 28, 1988 as “BADEN=POWELL WEEK” in the City of Port Coquitlan.
