RE: Award Presentation to Janna Taylor

On behalf of the Executive and members of the Recreation Society of British
Columbia, I would like to attend your 1982 07 19 Council meeting to. present
the Society's Citation Award to Janna Taylor, your Recreation Director.

The Recreation Society of B. C. is a non-profit organization representing —
professionals working in the field of recreation in this Province. The
Society's purpose is to foster and maintain high standards of professional
qualifications and ethics and in doing so, to positively impact upon the
delivery of leisure services Provincially.

The Citation Award is presented in recognition of an achievement which has
positively and progressively affected the delivery of parks and recreation
services, enhanced the public image of parks and recreation and/or further
developed the body of knowledge in the field. In this regard, Janna hea;
contributed significantly through her work on the Career Development
Program designed to provide practitioners with an opportunity for self-
directed professional upgrading. Apart from this achievement, Janna has
given freely of herself to work toward the goals of the Society and served
as its President in 1977-78. For your information, recent winners of the
Citation Award include May Brown, Heinz Berger, Ken Winslade, Norm Olenick,
Dr. Eric Broom, and John Furlong.

I look forward to meeting with you on the 19th and to attending your Council
meeting.
