TESTIFIES IN SUPPORT OF TRANSMOUNTAIN PIPELINE PROPUSAL

Vancouver, 3B.C.,July 18 -- Ira Liebowitz, representing the Fusion
Energy Foundation at this week's West Coast Oil Port Inquiry, will
back up testimony for the Transmountain Pipeline Proposal and broader
energy development including the MacKenzie Pipeline and the Ross’ Dam,
with 9,235 petitions of British Columbians which call upon the
government to adopt “an energy growth and industrial development policy"
and to reject “energy conservation,” The petitions, which were coller ‘2.
in a campaign of the North american Labor Party, state: "he independa-
‘ent national self-interest of Canada depends upon fostering the idea
of progress through scientific and technological innovation applied
to the expansion of Canada's power as an iriustrial nation.”

The petitioners, primarily -vorkers , echnicians and professionals,
oppose efforts of the “Rockefeller—control. ed Carter Administration"
of the United States and “Naderite environ ‘~talists" to extend "zero
growth policies" to Canada. They "reject...so-called energy conservation
as a proposal for unemployment, inflation #¢1d destruction of education”.

and massive resulting price increases on oil and other fossil fuels
controlled by the Rockefeller faction of the "Seven Sisters"
