If Council approves proceeding with the rezoning these Committees would be involved. Recommendation The Committee recommends that the proposal to rezone the north and south half of Lot 7 and Lot 8 of Plan 5726, Parcel A of Plan 14525 and Lot 5 and the remainder of Lot 6 of Plan 5726 be approved for further consideration for designation as . development area with development by Land U3e Contract and that the proposal be referred te the Building and Protection Committee and the Public Works Conmittee for their comments. 2. School Property - Reeve Street The request from School District #43 for purchase of City owned property located on Reeve Street between Kelly and Hawthorne was referred to the Planning and Zoning Committee for their comments. The Committee feels that the Parcel is suitable for school purposes. It is in the Flood Plain, however, school construction is a permitted use in the Flood Plain. The school location would service the eventual residential development that will occur around the downtown centre. Recommendation The Committee, therefore, recommends the site as a school site and suggests that the matter of sale be referred to the Land Sale Committee and the Finance Committee, v 3. Fencing of Developer Dedicated Park Areas Council asked the Planning and Zoning Committee to review establishing standard fencing requirements for any park areas dedicated by developers where the area is of a small tot lot size and is completely surrounded by housing. This does not occur too often, however, occasionally in subdivision a small parcel will be dedi-~ cated as park and the back yards of the surrounding houses adjoin the park-:and invariably a wide variety of fencing styles and sizes appear around the perimeter of the park.
