The Caranic Foundation of British Columbia STATEMENT OF ACTIVITIES In furtherance of its charitable purposes, the Ceramic Foundation will: 1. Bet wp an endowment fund for the long-term support of educational programa in the ceramic arta, such ag exhibitions, workehopae , lectures, library, research, publications, competitiona, studio and other awards, scholarships, exchanges, conferences, and @xperimentation in the ceramic arta; 2. Bolicit and obtain gifts, donations, bequeste, and ether a@imilar granta of property from all sources to build the endowment fund; 3, ensure proper management and accountability for moneys attracted to the endowment fund; 4. encourage other charitable and non=for=profit organizations to develop and expand awareness, appreciation, and knowledge of the ceramic arts; 5. It's not easy to summarize, except that it makes me think of the song "T've been everywhere, mar". She has lead an interesting life pursuing her paseion for working with clay: in Augtralia, in Britain with Cardew, Leach and otherae, in France, and back to Australia by 1974. She notes, "potting is definitely my favoured, if most insecure, means of survival. -vAlthough my daily existence is always hand=te-mouth, I seem to have fone the things I mest keenly wanted to doa. Luxury indeed." In a recent exhibition statement, she wrote, "My present concerns are with the paring of form to allow for a realtionahip of colour and line whthin a group. I am intrigued by the fine Line between Ehe monotonous and the Lively. The dull and the subtle. I use porcelain for ite strength when fine, and the way the rims absorb light: and I fire wlth wood to add a bloom of fine agh ta the glazes. But nok toa much ! I wank nothing inessential in the work" Gwyn will have an exhibit of her work at CABC's Craft- house, with an opening reception taking place on April 16th.
